Work Without Opus 10
Work Without Opus 10
As previously explained:
"Every so often, I find myself hitting metaphorical roadblocks while working on my serious compositions. In an attempt to refresh my mind and recharge my creative stamina, I decided to try absolutely letting go and “free write” per se on a blank orchestral template, without concern about the complexity, originality, or quality of the music.
That exercise produced this, a most banal orchestral score, loosely resembling a cinematic soundtrack. Regardless, this exercise proved successful and I plan to continue using this strategy for any future snags."
While working on the first movement of my Clarinet Sonata in C Minor, I hit a roadblock at the transition from the second theme to the repeated first theme. Hopefully, by finishing off this generic piece which I started years ago, close to when I began composing, it will generate enough creative stamina to help me "get back on my feet".
